Get to know a little bit about our Zoolikins family! These Zoolikins mamas are here to help guide you through the beginning stages of your little one’s lives. Come on in and visit them for cloth diaper trouble-shooting, suggestions for a baby-shower gift, or just stop in to say hello!

Alyssa, mom of three :

What is a passion of yours?

Before working for Zoolikins, I owned a baby carrier business, where I made and sold custom baby carriers. I love to create things: sewing, knitting, refinishing/refurbishing old furniture, anything crafty!

Why do you choose to cloth diaper?

I started cloth diapering when my oldest was ten-weeks-old because of his very sensitive skin. I put him in cloth and his rash cleared up immediately! The financial benefit has been nice too; I've saved more than five thousand dollars by using cloth diapers. I have some FuzziBunz with Babykicks hemp inserts that have been in rotation for all three of my kids- impressive that they have lasted that long!

What do you like about working at Zoolikins?

I love my job! I get to speak about topics that I am passionate about (cloth diapering, babywearing) and help our customers find the best products for their needs. I love it when I help a pregnant mama in the store and see her a few months later with the new baby in for to visit- cloth bum and all :)

Stephanie, mom of four:

What were you doing before you started working at Zoolikins?

I have a B.A. in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. I’ve been a substitute teacher, a tutor and middle-school language arts teacher, but I am very fortunate to have been a stay-at-home mom for several years. 

Why did you start cloth diapering?

I am mom to three princes and one princess. I didn’t start using cloth diapers until my third, when she was about nine-months-old.  I had some friends who talked about their cloth diapers all the time, so out of curiosity, I started doing some research.  Now I do it for a few reasons: to save money, to be friendlier to our planet, and lastly, they are so much cuter and more comfortable than ‘sposies!

What cloth diaper system do you prefer?

I am a pocket girl for the most part, but on occasion I still use prefolds or fitteds.  My stash consists of mostly FuzziBunz Perfect Size…although I am always open to trying new things!

Tell us a little about yourself.

I was born and raised in Arizona. I have traveled all over the world as a child and young adult, living for a few years overseas in Saudi Arabia. I was born at home with the help of a midwife, as were my two younger sisters. My parents cloth diapered us and my mother even made her own wrap to wear us in. 

What is your favorite diapering system or brands?

Ooo this is a hard one. I have cloth diapered both my kids from the beginning. I’ve tried just about every major brand and a few smaller ones out in the last three to four years. I really like to have a few different ones - some pockets, some all-in-ones, some fitteds and covers - as there are different needs for each style. Having gone through one child in diapers and now into diapering the second (with a little bit of time with two in diapers), my favorite styles are: fitted diapers with Little Beetle Little-to-Big wool covers, FuzziBunz Perfect Size smalls for newborn/up to 15 lbs, and both BumGenius Elementals and FuzziBunz Perfect Size Pocket Diapers for 15 lbs and up.  

What’s the best part about your job at Zoolikins?

The best thing about working at Zoolikins is getting to share my love for cloth diapers and babywearing with other parents and helping them on their journey. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with these items (and really with any aspect of this parenting ride) and listening to others share theirs.
